Best viewed in quiet shadow, these pieces are lit with a candle, glowing and growing in the lightening darkness, hoping to bring warmth and beauty, to slow us down and wake us up. In the next few months more of these will run on a silent clock plinth, with inner and outer domes turning at hour and minute hand speeds, reflecting the gradually shifting shadows on the still, golden, outer dish.The complex making process includes assembling the separate thrown parts, piercing, carving, trimming, slip decorating, sgraffito, glazing, gold application and firing.
